A little about our founder…
Vanessa Augustus started her career in the community sector. She has been the Chair of the Board for a social enterprise, a charity and also a housing association. She has held roles in regeneration and local authorities.
Throughout her career Vanessa has advised Commissioners and Central Government Policy Advisors. For nearly two decades she has successfully supported social enterprises and community organisations to deliver key services. She is an energetic, innovative and highly creative strategic thinker, trainer and business coach. Her leadership and advocacy skills ensure a wide range of stakeholders are kept involved in decision making processes.
Vanessa self-financed the Social Solutions Academy (SSA) in September 2009. This pioneering partnership building organisation has successfully supported the learning and development of over 350 social entrepreneurs, public sector representatives and private sector executives.
In April 2011 she was shortlisted for the Social Entrepreneur category for the 19th annual Inspiring Women Awards. In June 2010 she was invited to join Fellowship of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).
